2014 DICKENS SANOMI ESSAY COMPETITION FOR NIGERIANS

It gives The Dickens Sanomi Foundation a great pleasure to introduce The Dickens Sanomi Annual Essay writing competition 2014!!!
Now in its 4th year, the DSF Essay Competition is a national competition open to all Nigerian students of secondary school age. The competition is organized by The Dickens Sanomi Foundation, an independent non-governmental organization set up to promote the importance of education in particular writing skills amongst our youth.
This years’ essay competition is split into two categories Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School.

The Junior Secondary School essay title is:
The youth of today tend to look up to celebrities but are they being good role models or are they setting a bad example for teenagers? Discuss
The Senior Secondary School essay title is:
Childhood obesity is quickly overtaking smoking as the world’s no 1 killer for teenagers. Discuss.

Essays must not be more than 1,500 words long, they can be hand written or typed. The judges will be looking for students to have captured the relevance of the titles, grammar, presentation and the logical discussion.
Students can submit their essays in the following ways, with their full name, address, school, telephone number and email address:
  • Send your entries to the DSF email address info@dickenssanomi.org
  • Send by post or dropped by hand to the DSF official office address 4, Oguda Close, off Lake Chad Crescent, Maitima
PRIZES
  • Grant for their school towards a project of the schools’ choice.

The Prize Giving award ceremony
The prize giving and award ceremony will be on the 5th Wednesday, November 2014, where the winners will be announced. Additional information will follow nearer the time.
