2014 MIKE OKONKWO ESSAY COMPETITION FOR NIGERIAN SECONDARY SCHOOLS

The 2014 Mike Okonkwo National Essay Competition is now open for entries for secondary school students in Nigeria.This 11th Edition of Mike Okonkwo Essay Competition is the latest in the series that span over a decade of developing and rewarding the writing skills of Nigerian Secondary Students towards National developent.

THE THEME OF THE ESSAY IS
“The Power of Your Vote: A Catalyst For A Stable And United Nigeria”.
PRIZES
1st Position
Winner – N100,000 and a Laptop.
School –  3 Set of PC and  Printer
2nd Position
Winner – N75, 000
School – 2 Set of PC and Printer.
3rd Position
Winner – N50,000
School – A Set of PC and Printer.


ELIGIBILITY
It is Open to Secondary School Students in Nigeria.


HOW TO APPLY
1. Your essay should be written in maximum of 2000 (Two Thousand) words.
2. Candidates should include the following in their essay.
a. Name of student. 
b. Class
c. Email
d. Contact Phone Number
e. Recent passport photograph.
ALSO INCLUDE
f. Name of School and detailed address
g. Name of Principal and Phone Number
Entries should be clearly written (Legibility is important)

    can the essay be as short as 500 words? because 2000 is not scaring me but its chasing so many people.

    1. Dear Adaeze they said Maximum of 2000. This means it can be as less as 500 but it should not be more than 2000.
