EbonyStory 2017 story writing contest is open to all type of story writers. We’re looking for a long story that will have minimum of 20 episodes. Each episodes should be at least 5000 characters. The story MUST be fresh and MUST not exist anywhere else online while the contest is still going on.
Application:
Application starts from December 1st, 2017 and ends December 10th, 2017. It’s FREE and open for everybody. You only have to fill the form below after which you submit the short summary and the first episode of your story to story@ebonystory.com. You MUST be the real author of the story you are submitting. Our team will go through your application and reply you if successful or not.
Story:
The story should be a story that any adult can read. Avoid the use of dirty words like pussy, dick, fuck, etc. Sexual scenes should not be given too much attention. We are very serious about it and leads to automatic disqualification if we notice that in your story. The story should be written in pure English language. No broken English or tribal language is allowed but if highly necessary should be very minimal. The story should be well organized and follow the standard approach of writing story. It shouldn’t promote hatred and must be educative, inspiring and have good moral value.
Awards:
First Prize is N50,000, Second Prize is N30,000, Third Prize is N20,000. There will be recharge card for all the contestants but the amount depends on the number of contestants.
Timing:
The contest will kick off on December 11th, 2017 and end December 31th, 2017 During this period our email (story@ebonystory.com) will be open to receive subsequent available episodes of your story. The winners will get their various prizes on January 1st, 2018.
Judging:
The contest will be judged over 100%.
The first 80% will be based on how readers responded to your story through likes (20%), comments (20%), ratings (40%).
The remaining 20% will be judged by our team based on grammar and story organization.
At all point you are expected to encourage your readers to like, comment, rate and most especially share. Note that only unique comments counts.
Finally, we reserve the right to disqualify you if we noticed that you violate any of the rules we mentioned above. Goodluck!!!
