Please DO NOT BUY the Osuji Yam Pounder. It is a very bad product. I bought a unit on the 18th March 2015 and had this delivered to me in Ikeja-Lagos by one of the Sales Representative (One Pastor Emmanuel). The glass lid was broken while installing and his promise to return with a replacement has not happened since then. Email and phone calls to 080 3479 1815 has not been returned. The lady in charge of the email address (osujiyampounder@yahoo.com) never sign her name-a further proof of the bad product they sell. I'm happy to provide you with further proof this is not a product to invest your hard-earned money on. Drop me an email at aanimasaun@gmail.com

I thought I was the only one they duped. I bought a yam pounder from them in Aug, found it was faulty and they told me to return it as they will send me another one. This is Dec and I've neither gotten the yam pounder nor a refund of the N54,450 which they received from me. Now, they no longer pick my calls or reply my text. Pls these people shd be apprehended.

The same thing happened to me. It's been 5 months now and I've neither gotten the yam pounder nor a refund of the N54,450 which I paid to them. These people need to be apprehended.

I wish I had seen these messages before buying. I have bought one last year and it is not working, never worked even for one second. The phone number was answered once and since then never answered again. This is very bad for Nigerian manufacturers and businesses. People are trying to patronize locally made products so as to encourage them and develop our economy, but this kind of attitude from Osuji will only spoil the confidence and efforts. SON should fish out this company and deal with them before they spoil business for other local manufacturers

    Dear Anonymous,
I'm not sure why you don't want us to know your name. This company (Osuji Yam Pounder) and all those who work for them are the same. The company's activities are coordinated by a well-spoken lady who is forever busy selling sub-standard appliances. I suggest that you do the following:

    1. Put your shame aside and let all your friends and acquaintances know what shitty product the Osuji Yam Pounder machine is. Send to all on your list.

    2. Send the same message to all e-groups that you belong to.

    3. File a formal complaint against them to the Consumer Protection Council of Nigeria (www.cpc.gov.ng)

The more people know the better. Send out the phone and names of their contacts as well so that others know them

    Dear Madam Osuji Yam Pounder,
Your respond is nothing more than trying to appear as a responsible and responsive organization. YOU ARE NOT. Just to be sure, my name is Ajibola Animasaun and one of those unlucky enough to have bought your machine. Beging today, I will serialize my email correspondence with you. Unfortunately, our discussion over the phone and by SMS cannot be reproduced. My intention is simple: to show anyone fortunate enough to come across this thread that your company and its product is simply to be avoided. YOU ARE NEVER TO BE PATRONISED.

I bought your Osuji Yam Pounder on or about the 17/03/2015. During installation, our representative broke the glass cover. The following mail sent on the 23/03/2015 was the first in a long series:

    ''Hello,
Last week, I called to complaint about the conduct of your salesman – Emmanuel. Specifically, my complaint was to report his lie – that I broke the glass covering of the machine he delivered to my wife's shop. I subsequently called Emmanuel on Friday,20/03/2015 for him to re-confirm his earlier claim (that I was responsible for the breakage). Thankfully, he denied ever making such a claim. He promised to deliver a replacement the next day Saturday, 21/03/2015 or the morning of Monday, 23/03/2015.

I find the following interesting about this event:

    1. Despite my call to you last week and your assurance to speak with Emmanuel, you've neglected to communicate or provide me with any update.
    2. My calls to your number as well as Emmanuel have gone unanswered.
    3. The purpose of buying this machine was for use in our business. It is sad that we are unable to use this machine within a few days after purchase

I trust that you will cause him to send in a replacement today.''

I called and after countless attempt you answered my call and promised that your Emmanuel would come in to replace the broken glass cover. As I was soon to find out, you never intended fulfilling your promise. The mail which followed on the 25/03/2015 was a follow up. Enjoy reading:

    ''Hello
We spoke earlier this week. You'd promised Emmanuel would deliver the replacement glass lid either yesterday or this morning. Emanuel just called to inform he will be doing that by Friday, 27/03/2015 at the latest. While we accept this as we have no means of compelling an earlier replacement, we will appreciate your intervention to ensure this date is not missed again.

    Thank you.''
