US Issues $10,000 to be won for best ideas around clean water in Africa
DO YOU HAVE A GREAT IDEA FOR CLEAN WATER FOR AFRICA
Standard Bank Group has been built in Africa over 152 years. While we operate in 20 Africa countries we are concerned with the growth of Africa and its people as a whole. Towards this we get involved in many initiatives. These include helping ensure that Africa is on the agenda of major global economic forums and our contributions – be it in the form of money, time and knowledge.
Without clean water people get sick, many die and Africa’s growth slows. Providing affordable and reliable clean water to all people in Africa remains a challenge, in both rural and urban areas.
This is why we’re looking for your ideas around how we could make clean reliable drinking water affordable and accessible to all Africans. Even if you don’t have an idea, you get to vote on an idea that you feel is the best.
You may submit and vote on ideas until 11 December 2014. The ideas will then be evaluated by committees made up of experts in various fields. They will eventually name six finalists in January 2015.
Cash prizes totaling US$10,000 are up for grabs for ideas that are taken through to concept or even deployed.
