will get the chance to present their products and businesses to an audience of
users, geeks and investors during the 2014 Edition of Social Media Week Lagos.

Startups that can enter the Battlefield must meet the following
criteria:

1. Must not be older than 2 years (The Startup Business)
2. Must have received less than $200,000 in funding
3. Must have a substantial tech component which is live at the time of
competition i.e. corporate website does not count {startups in beta will be
allowed in special circumstances if there is a reasonable expectation that they
will launch in less than 3 months from the competition}

4.Must serve Nigerian customers/be based in Nigeria.
Startups begin their battlefield journey by applying to the Academy.
After a rigourous selection process by a properly constituted committee of
experts, seven startups will emerge. The deserving seven that make it past the
committee will proceed to the academy. There, they will receive hands-on
training from our group of professionals – the Faculty – in business,
financials, technology and presentation skills. And they will need all of it,
for what comes next.

CAN YOU SURVIVE THE BATTLEFIELD?
On the 19th of February, the seven Faculty-honed startups will take to
the field to present to our panel of judges – experienced entrepreneurs,
consultants and financiers – and battle it out for the star prize. But they
compete not just for glory — there will be press and investors in the audience
looking for startups to invest in as well. Everything is at stake!
